Great album. I've been listening to it for a few months and can't get over it. Other highlights are "Stillness Is The Move" and "Cannibal Resource". They're playing the Williamsburg Waterfront (Pool Party) for free on July 19th with Magnolia Electric Co and White Denim. Schedule below.

Sunday, July 12 - Mission of Burma, Fucked Up & Ponytail
Sunday, July 19 - Magnolia Electric Co. AND Dirty Projectors and White Denim
Sunday, July 26 - Health
Sunday, Aug 02 - Dan Deacon, No Age & Deerhunter (Round Robin)
Sunday, Aug 09 - Simian Mobile Disco DJ set & Fiery Furnaces
Sunday, Aug 23 - Girl Talk, Max Tundra and Wiz Khalifa
Sunday, Aug 30 - Grizzly Bear

And if you're into Dirty Projectors, check out Lucky Dragons.

Just because something is more expensive, doesn’t make it better.

If you aren’t recording or producing music, you don’t need them. If you have a shit ear, you don’t need them. Monitors are for monitoring, not as much listening.

If you don’t know frequencies, or the overall concept of sound and the differences monitors will bring, you don’t need them.

Don’t get them unless you’re an audiophile or producing.

Plus, M-Audio sucks.

I'm going to have to completely disagree with you. If anything, the Spoon album makes the top three of this year. It's their most consistent and thought out album, with shorter, catchier songs that don't drag on (ex: Gimme Fiction). And the live performance at Roseland brought out a completely different side to the album. Every track on this album has a different feel and mood, and yet, collectively, the tracks are so consistent. That's a pretty tough feat to pull off without sounding generic and repetitive.

In Rainbows, in my opinion, is Radiohead's best album yet. Even if they hadn't done the download and pay-what-you-want deal, it still stands out as one of their more lively albums, and didn't feel stretched out. The work Yorke and co. put into this is definitely something that can be heard when listening, and the revitalization of old and new live tracks gave In Rainbows a different feel than their past albums.

If you need some Top 10 nominations, I'd pick Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam, and Panda Bear - Person Pitch, to be in there somewhere.
