Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetOK after reading the post and the comments, I'd like to give LifeHacker minus points for being so vague.
I was not impressed with Seti@Home when it rolled out long ago, because I think there are more pragmatic and realistic problems to attempt to solve. Which is why I have donated quite a few cycles to Folding@Home.
Now, if LifeHacker can explain how we can unwittingly learn to fold proteins by playing a game, bravo. Otherwise, please do your research on "Human Computation" by watching this Google Video from 2006: [video.google.com]
(side-effect of game: generate tags for images, proofread scanned documents, etc.)

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | Tweet@johnnyletter: I've had to learn on my feet for most of my career. I've been lucky to work with some great people. One of the worst was a recent grad who didn't do much else than try to undermine me behind my back. Had to quit over it, but I was re-hired. Did I mention they were boinking my boss at the time?
