Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI’ve only had this type of breakfast at Fukagawa all of once and I can’t wait to go back. I loved how it was a bunch of small plates and how it felt very interactive. Talk about cheap as well!
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI think if I’d won I’d HAVE to cook something for dinner that night from a Julia Child recipe.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetSpeaking of Boneyard, just the other day I had the best patty melt of my life there for $20. I still dream about it.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI did The Hungry Cat. Over-rated. I’ve done Father’s Office. Good but not earth shattering. I’ll do Comme Ca because I love burgers and whenever there is a new one in the Southland I’m always itching to try it. But like you I find that the best burgers are the ones that are just that; burgers. No frills, no arugula, and no zany sauces made from purified fruits.
For my dollar I’d rather swivel on a stool at The Apple Pan or try and squeeze into a corner table at Pie ‘n Burger.

One addition I wish they’d add at my local COSTCO is something I saw in SD. A 10 items or less line!

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI've been told similarly that had I grown up with it, I would like it.
I don't know if I want to be party to a food I had to grow up eating in order to find it easy to stomach.

@ Justin: Yea Carl's Jr. IS Carl's Jr. It's silly to go there with high expectations.
@ Anonymous: Why do I need to proof read when you're doing it for me?
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetUmami! That's so fun to shout.
I'm trying to make it here Sunday, probably going triple-pork and onion rings. $8 for a burger is a little ridiculous though given the size.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetThat’s depressing. Burgers are so “in” right now and everyone’s having a go. It makes sense that there would be some bad patties in the mix. Still I always try to remain optimistic, but I’m quickly learning I’d be better off going ghetto.
What’s your rec for a downtown burg that won’t disappoint?
Reply | Original | Permalink | Tweet@ PulledPorker: I just got a coupon. How was it?
@ burumun: It's easy to forget they do brunch. In case you've also forgotten, not much further is another good brunch option Inn of the Seventh Ray. Hippie restaurant extraordinaire!
Exile Kiss: Wow I'm flattered you read my blog post. I've been ghosting on yours for some time. You go into such wonderful detail that every post can be like a restaurant guidebook.
