There were issues with the iPhone 2.01 update, if I remember
correctly. I had to restore from backup more than once, but it's been
pretty much rock solid, as you describe, since then. I stuck with
BlackBerry for about 4-5 years, and graduated with them from device to
device, but I don't miss it at all. The iPhone offers so much more,
without compromising, especially when it comes to the Web experience.
Synching with Safari is perfect for me, and with each new app, its
lead gets larger.
