Here’s a link to the video.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetKaren’s right on about the filters thing. I DO read my posts aloud in the hope that it sounds remotely like what I’m trying to say. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t but I hope that if it sounds right to me it will be easier for the reader to hear it.
It’s a way to trim out the things that may lead them astray to talk about your dog or whatever. But hey, once you start the conversation you don’t have much control anymore and sometimes they find the tangent more interesting.Just gotta roll with it or try to re-direct in the responses to the comment. (which pretty much never works for me!)

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetActually I did attend, and I am in total agreement with you. This event has evolved into just a mass of people there to party. We were there early with our 9 yr old son who thought it was hilarious that a passerby simply leaned over as he walked by and threw up in the middle of the street and then staggered off.
This was at about 5:30, and from all our neighbor’s accounts int went downhill from there.
We left t 6 and met a family we knew and the husband said they "Get out by 6 because it’s no place for kids after that".
What a shame.I love the idea, but this is the last year our family will take part. Hopefully the Italian festival will still be family friendly.

Let me take it a step further…. You know that little white base your iPod came with (and you probably threw away immediately)? Well, dig out a well for it; glue it in, and presto! You’ve got a nice well for your iPod/iPhone to sit in.
You’re welcome.
(lol)
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI still like biz cards. I see the card, remember the conversation, the person, the event and the moment. Sort of like a touchstone for each conversation.
My own cards have a list of all my social media profiles on them. No address, an email and my cell phone.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetSeesmic is fine and the new version of Tweetdeck is too. That said something on this page crashed Firefox/Mac not once, not twice but three times!
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetThat's interesting. I had similar results when I registered my Google profile. My usual jfouts wasn't available though it didn't appear to be in use and I ended up with jfouts1.
Actually I'm regretting the Facebook URL now as I tend to use Facebook differently than my other networks like Twitter and I'm not sure I want those networks to cross over so much.

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI like to think my sense of humor could tolerate that. Really, did you see the movie Psycho? Are you out picketing El Pollo Loco? Boycotting the baby store Psycho Baby? ( http://www.psychobabyonline.com/ )
Please understand the only thing you’re doing with the protests is getting Psycho donuts some really great PR. There is no such thing as bad PR. If you don’t want to support them, maybe you should think of another way to get them to change their brand?

(gross generalization ahead)
I agree that men focus on the prize and women focus on the long term relationship.
If you look at how business relationships are changing it may be time for men to start focusing on their business relationship to their customers, colleagues and competitors a bit differently. While it may be true that men tend to be the more aggressive players in social media circles, is that the right play?
Tad Chef-
Saying women get to the top for being excessively social while men work hard to get there is an over simplification.
Some men have to work hard to understand how to give value rather than demand attention. The ones who are best at social media, and therefore at the top of the heap are the ones who naturally volunteer help and opinions rather than scream “look at how great I am” over and over.Business environments are changing and the relationship with the customer is being recognized as a long term benefit to the company. Better build that relationship or watch somebody else do it instead.

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetThat's a great story Chris. It takes so little for us to engage someone in a simple conversation, and usually it's more interesting than reading email on your phone while in the cab anyway. Simply being nice to people whenever the opportunity presents itself always returns. You're just never sure when or where.
