Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI remember how happy I was to see you, Mona N, Pea and others over on Twitter. I don’t hate on FriendFeed, but it’s nice to have a way to find you all in both places. And what I notice are your names and what you are saying to each other and to me, not the numbers. I’m just as happy to find value from someone who’s “Twitter ratio” is 2/2 or 2/1 as I am someone who is at Scoble or Brogan levels. More importantly, I’m MORE likely to GIVE value if I talk to people, not look to the side and count.

Don't take that widget down early :) Daniela, hang in there - you'll come out of it stronger, I promise, I know.

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetIt takes quite a while for me to want and then design a tattoo, and each one symbolizes a shift in my life, a major change, always for the better. They mark growth in some way for me. Every tattoo is a story untold, and I love hearing the stories behind other people’s tattoos.
For the books, I have been on a brain candy kick for a while, so lots of thrillers, a few pieces of literature, some non fiction stuff. I tend to keep the classics and things that are hard to find, difficult to replace or signed.

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetThis article does not encourage employers to push employers to use any of their time to purposely shill for work, on or off the clock. It does encourage employers to embrace the organic processes of social media and the natural promotion that occurs (passive marketing) when someone associated with a company is allowed to grow their online presence without fear of extreme repercussion. This combination of passive marketing plus engagement marketing techniques being implemented in a company is the untapped powerhouse your employees can bring to the table.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetIt probably doesn’t speak highly of my sanity that my first thought was “OMG when can I go hang out with Mona N?” ;) Yoda Toes. LMAO
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetEvernote has added so many features since I wrote this that I may have to dedicate a post to it this week. I go nowhere without Evernote active on my laptop, desktop and phone now. Photos, voice, handwriting, clips - it is a true indispensible app for me now.

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI decided to let my readers decide. I went into HaveAMint and Google Analystics (my stats rpograms) and looked up my most popular post for 2008 using the criteria of the most visited landing page.
It was a tie, dead even between Working With Gen Y, Gen X and Boomers (http://uptownuncorked.com/2008/11/13/working-with-gen-y-gen-x-and-boomers/) and What’s In Your Social Media Toolbox (http://uptownuncorked.com/2008/10/24/whats-in-your-social-media-toolbox/).
I have to admit, I was surprised that those were the most popular posts. This proved to be a great way to see what people really read on my company’s blog versus what I hope they read.
