You should probably keep the SEO plugin active.

However, when you do, the keywords you put in will override those tags. Your tags on your blog will end up becoming just another type of search feature. Some people even put a tag list on their search pages to help people find what they need.

So... you kind of need both.

Does that make sense?

A lot of times they are highly associated with keywords, so they can be counted by search engines if you only use a plain tagging system rather than a SEO plugin.

The hacking was on the Twitter Grader, rather the Website Grader itself. As a web developer of a couple web scripts myself, there are always going to be vulnerabilities. Twitter always runs a risk because of its popularity. When I was a top 10 Yahoo! Clubs founder and cofounder before they merged Yahoo! Clubs and eGroups to form Yahoo! Groups), I had been hacked. The largest group I had was over 50K in members and the least on the top ten was over 23K. I was stressful because I was in college at the time. My only luck was that Yahoo! then offered phone support - which they stopped doing after all the mayhem. --------- I believe Lorelle does some podcasts and convention speaking. She is now a very busy woman and one I hope to meet at a future WordCamp. I would probably suggest sending her an email and asking her if she was going to continue blogging on her site. However, as I said, it may be because of her busy schedule. I still have no idea how Matt Mullenweg, God Bless his heart, has the time as he is also very busy. I cannot wait to Interview him in person this June at WordCamp Chicago.

Congrats! I have been loving HG’s services for the past 2 years. In fact. HG saved me from complete and utter frustration from another webhost who had no idea what in the world they were talking about.

Thanks Brent for continuing to give a product that people can rely on.

When that fire happened, I was so touched that 1 month was comped on my dedicated server. It was something I never expected and that I was also able to use that money for that month and do something for my own clients.

I actually just upgraded my server on RAM last month and very happy with how things are going. Response time is amazing and I ALWAYS recommend HG in case a client wants a web host that is larger. Thank you for putting the control back into the web designer and web developer’s hands.

By the way, I wanted to do an interview with you, but I am not sure how to go about it. Something tech and social media based at least. I know you are busy, but I think my readers would love it if you could. Email is in my comment form.

There are plenty on LinkedIn that I have participated on...fairly active discussions. Probably the best thing is to go to popular blogs in web design and those will have a lot of people that comment who interested in that and might even blog about it.

It is important to blog what you feel, but remain diplomatic. People who comment should do the same, even if they do not agree.I know there are a lot of people who are sensitive. The problem is that they need to grow more as a personal and accept more views. Not everyone will be happy, but choosing to respect a person's opinion is the best thing a blogger AND a commenter can do.

I like the Bring backlinks idea. Although I have not joined, I think it is important to use relevant information from other resources. Sometimes they can say it better, but you have your own idea.

I do not mind if there are people honestly agreeing with me, but if there is more information that I should know about, I truly value the person that can either share that information or provide a good rebuttal. How can any conversation continue without being challenged or any questions ask to clarify any points? My recent post Social Media 101: Your Business Cannot Rely On Only Social Networking

I actually was not as motivated about watching the Olympics this year. We do not have people in the Olympics, like in figure skating that could be as lovable as Scott Hamilton and people who completed well over a decade or so. There is a loss in driving up more fans and making them connect.

Then, there was the speed track. Apolo Ohno should not have been disqualified. He barely even touched and did not even push. It does not take a professional athlete for that. Yahoo covered it and called him a whiner, which he was right to complain. It was a bad call. It does not matter if he had 8 medals.

The problem is that in another heat, he was pushed big time and it was not even called.

The local recreation center is only 3 blocks from my home. I go there to exercise at least 2 times as week. In March, I plan to step up more on my workouts.. :)

I have to agree with you. Mods usually do not. Spammers do and that would have been obvious.

I am thinking this is just some funky harassment and possibly a bit of a hacking/ masking email address.

AMEN to all!

Pink hair… not a prob. Try two eyebrow rings, a nose ring and 12 earrings (6 in each ear)… that one tends to knock people because I am a mommy, but I also dress professionally…lol

However, like you, I found people quite welcoming. I actually got “adopted” by the Chicago WordPress guys and gals last year…lol.

I live in a small town of about 12K (I have just as many twitter followers…yikes.) Some of what I say clicks with many people, but it is the fact that a lot of them are too lazy or not yet ready to put a good plan. My thing is that I am developing a site for Southern Illinois. People always ask me online – What is in Southern Illinois. The Internet really gives easy small town an actual face itself. I am making it my goal to help business owners try to have a presence online by some means. If they want to go further, my door is open. I have talked the talked and walked the walk, so I am encourage them to journey with me.

Thank you for reaffirming I am not off the beaten path.

Not a problem. I thought it was buzzworthy. This is how blogging usually works. People are inspired by what they see. Mentioning related articles is just a nice way to allow people to see more information. My hours on Facebook should not matter, but places like Nielsen want to know if there is any correlation. Same goes for television shows. Last year, the founder of the Fan History wiki (who I intern for) had written a paper asking if there were a correlation between the popularity of certain television shows and the fanfiction written during the time the shows run. It was easy to say that there was indeed a correlation.

Do you mean, allow your fans to comment and let it show up on the front wall?

If so, yes you can. There should be a settings link to the right of the links that says "you", "you+fans", and "just fans".

It should open up and let you change the settings to allow your fan's comments to show up on the front wall along with your own updates.
