I think that 10) Change your blog permalink structure immediately is forgotten by many people starting out and will dramatically change the traffic coming to a blog, when combined with good keyword research.
I seldom Digg blog posts, but this is well worth the time.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetMost financial institutions make their money on the "float" - i.e. the money made on interest on your money in that time between when you transfer it and when it is "available" in your other account. No matter how good the technology is, I cannot imagine the banking industry would give up that enormous money machine.

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetA great post on the basics of building a good communication network, I have built another 60 steps into how to build traffic, monetise and expand your personal or business reach. never the less I like the 40 tips above as there is always something that you forget or learn new...
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetGreat reading thanks. I'm off to Follow u on Twitter :)
I'd just like to respond to the predictions that interest me:1) The Real-Time Web Will Become Critical for News and Information Discovery
Oh yes :)2) Businesses Will Be Expected to Be On Social Media If They Have Web Sites
YouTube definitely, and I guess maybe LinkedIn. Not so sure about Facebook/ Twitter/ Friendfeed. I think businesses will be more interested in bringing these sort of services in-house for their own employees.5) Android Will Have Less than 20% the Sales of iPhone in 2009
An-what? Android has has a bit of a feeble launch despite being hyped up so much. Google might launch its own Android-based device with a setup similar to iPhone with an Android app store etc.7) FriendFeed and Twitter Will Both Be Independent Through 2009
I think FriendFeed might just wither. Twitter on the other hand may one day be worth more than Facebook. I reckon Microsoft will make a bid for Twitter in the 3rd quarter.10) eTrade, Digg, StumbleUpon, Skype and Yahoo! Will All Be Sold.
Who would want to buy Digg and StumbleUpon? Something tells me these kind of sites don't really have much of a future.

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetIt really depends on the mindset at the people at those institutions...people at banks are usually behind the curve and Google has gotten so bloated...
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI have to think this will get better, but I also know it won't be quickly. Banks make money by holding yours - is my belief. Nice article on the fact that many things that have been technology enabled still have a long way to go.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | Tweet"simplicity of the web" is not the problem. the problem revolves around people and process. come on. don't blame the internet. there's much more going on behind the scenes of *any* business; be it regulation, process, cost, infrastructure ... if that's what you meant, you didn't say it.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI just wish I knew how you felt!
Lol, I agree. Actually today I sold a website, they paid with PayPal. Great, but now I have to wait another 4 days to get my money. I agree, it seems silly in today's digital world to have to wait.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI ping FeedBurner when I post as well, and then refresh the site here manually on FriendFeed to make sure it gets through.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI've taken to manually pinging FeedBurner each time I post to my blog. On the other hand, for most services I have linked to FriendFeed, I have to tell it to update each service I use manually, since it seems to take forever (and under the CES traffic crunch, things are only worse).
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | Tweeti like the idea of "brutally fun"... as if to say being brutally honest is addictive in a good way. sounds a lot like a hockey game.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI couldn't agree more. There's no excuse for it in 2009 to be brutally honest. So many services who tout web 2.0 really need to pick their game up.

Salam kenal : )
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetNick, thank you for that, and indeed by this source you are correct. I am glad to see this is occurring b/c the developers at Plurk have a fun thing going. I got really tired of the Karma thing, but I found Plurk much more enjoyable than Twitter - just not as much as FriendFeed ;-)
I appreciate you stopping by and thanks.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetWow, thanks Mike! Above being noticed, which is always flattering, I am so glad that I can offer some substance and extend the conversation. I have so enjoyed reading your posts, as well as those on LouisGray.com.
I am also excited at the aspect of FriendFeed that is so great. Other friends introducing me to wonderful new content producers and content sharers. Thanks for the heads up and continuing this great service to highlight what is turning into a wonderful community.

You are so right about me being quiet and always in the background :D

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI love that everyone on FriendFeed gets something different. So I don't want to follow the people that “everyone” is following. If everyone followed the same people we'd end up with something like Digg or Reddit.

To be exact it was 3,773 words, but who's counting :) I appreciate you taking the time to read it, and of course of stumbling it.
Thanks,
Mike
