No that it's going to last (without fortification), but I went from hardly able to be found on the term "best keyword tool" to the first page of Google results--overnight! That's right. For people researching that term, HitTail is now on the first page of Google results--simply because I new that potential existed thanks to HitTail telling me. That's the power of a HitTail writing suggestion. Now whether this will last is another matter.

I posted about Top SEO Marketing Tools, because HitTail told me I would gain top position in Google if I did.

I get goosebumps when I think of what you can do with "large storehouses of pent-up corporate data" from massive companies like Amazon and Priceline.

This site (http://www.rosswalker.co.uk/adwords_top10/) has a pretty good list of adwords alternatives. I think the top 10 order is fairly arbitrary but it is worth a look.

Now that I'm an in-house SEO, I understand why clients from my agency days saw so much value in the "shot in the dark" forecasts we used to deliver. At the very least forecasts are helpful to get organizations to think more about the impacts that SEO can have on a business, rather the strange marketing voodoo that most think it is. Just realize that when a client (or potential client) asks for a forecast that it's an opportunity to showcase your SEO expertise as well as your business acumen (but NEVER give a guarantee and load that document with all the assumptions you've made).

SEO is powerful as a means of generating that initial (largely unqualified) lead. It draws people into Roy H. Williams calls "the gravity well." But the potentially overvaluation of SEO and other forms of lead generation must be measured against the potentially undervalued skilled of lead cultivation or nurturing. My research suggests that much more attention should now be moving further down the decision cycle -- helping the buyer get closer to a decision and allowing the seller to produce a truly "sales ready" lead.

I think the best alternative for both adsense and adwords is AdToll . You will see dramatic increase in your earnings.

Today great news is; AdToll is acquired by US company.

Hi!
Thanks for the nod to SpyFu. We may just have to humbly agree with your statement that SpyFu remains the best tool, but please let me challenge you about it being expensive.

Even though there is plenty that you can accomplish with free access to the site (with no time limits), you're definitely right that a paid subscription opens up much more comprehensive data.

Still, that can be less than $40/month. So yes, that can be expensive for some budgets but might be classified as very reasonable for many.

Thanks for letting me add my 2 cents.

Thanks for this list - not only I've learned about new feature of HitTail but I never knew about Google Insights so far - I'm going to check it out. Thumb up!

I read this and realized that it did the same thing for my website. Only mine was in the amount of $30 not $20K. Wow. I'm so amazed at this and just love hit tail.

I find it interesting that the ones that I catch with Hittail are NEVER in the Google search query report.

They come up as the infamous "other unique query"

I know how much real time tracking can help first hand. No matter how good you think you are at picking fail-safe keywords, you still can pick a moneypit every once and a while. I know I have a couple of times.

Interesting article - the same thing just happened to us on the SERPs
