We quite often go there. Truth be told, not only is it a nice walk, but it's a very short drive from there, back to Montague Avenue, which has a wealth of places to eat, including Madra Rua, Park Circle Coffee, and Sesame Burgers and Beer.

I have been looking for where that giant yellow chair is.. since a friend, on multiply, from Savannah, posted photos. I've been going mad, asking "where's that giant chair, in some park?" I didn't know it was in North Charleston. Thanks for sharing your video. I'm off to google Riverfront Park now! :) ~Heidi

It is definitely worth a visit. We're going again real soon, as I'm as excited about the excellent beers as I am the food!

Thanks, so much, for introducing me to something new, for us, to try, too! I'm glad you had a good birthday.

Very much so. It can be easy to lose sight of that. What you might think is a good use of money, I might think is a complete waste, but for all of us, it's getting what we want out of life, with minimum negative stress that makes frugality rock.

I think it's important therefore for any of us not to condemn each others spending patterns but to helpfully suggest ways in which money can be saved, while each pursuing what we individually want.

Frugality is saving money on the things that aren't important so that you'll have money for the things that are important. I've seen this explanation several different places and absolutely love it, because what's important in my household (no debt, emergency fund, getaways, and coffee!) might not be exactly the same things that are important in yours. It's this flexibility that makes frugality rock!

For better or for worse, I really do believe in this, even though I'm sometimes a pain in the butt about it. Oh I do think it's good to reward yourself sometimes too, but you've got to earn the reward first!

Nice post. But what should parents do with their children? I hear that the American Academy of Pediatrics's recommendation that parents limit screen time to no more than two hours per day includes television, videos/DVDs, and video games. 100% adult supervision 24/7 for our children is impossible, cause we are not always with them. My children like you don’t like watch TV. To prevent them from spending all spare time on the Internet, I use internet filtering software Ez Internet Timer: http://www.internettimer.net It helps me control, schedule and filter Internet activity on the kids PC.

Thanks, Belinda. As I said, I was inspired by the Daily Telegraph article, which I think Toby probably wrote to stir up a debate. As a British Ex-Pat he knew full well that is exactly what it would do!

Some of them. I don't have to test and prove everything that I write, any more than I have to be able to build a car to discuss its finer points! A number of these have been passed on to me, both by online and offline friends.
