Jesus was planting a subcontious message with that statement. Mountains are “problems” or “osticles”. In those days it took many days to cross a mountian so they were seen as powerful. So powerful that they often set the boundries for countries…and still do to this day. So with that in mind Jesus was saying “If you have faith then you can conquer all and nothing will stop you.” How cool is that! Jesus was amazing because he taugh to us on level we didn’t even know.

I don’t know what the church is anymore, seems more like a bunch of people in one click or another, loving themselves and patting each other on the back - while others are cold shouldered and ignored. I don’t love the church anymore, cos it’s full of people who wear masks, say all the right things, but never actually reach anyone. I don’t love the church, cos it’s full of noise and committees, happy clappers, pastor worshippers and money grabbers - it just doesn’t attract. I’m not bitter, but I’m no fool, if there’s no love, then it’s no church!!!

Oh, and by the way, “Tiberius” is the middle name I’ve been planning on giving a son of mine for years now! This site is kind of eerie.

Wow, I’ve thought of the same thing myself. I’m another Jason Clark studying Bible and Theology (and there are two others at my Bible college as well). It’s funny that the Oneness Pentacostal guy above has the middle name “Alan”, while mine is “Allen”. I’ve always said that one of these days when, Lord willing, I start publishing scholarly works and/or when I get my PhD, I’m going to have to go by J. Allen Clark, kind of like Dr. J. Vernon McGee. But just remember, I called this one. Good luck and on the issue, and of course, blessings in Jesus!

Hi Jason,

Thank you so much for bringing this to the attention of many. I just returned from an event in D.C. put on by the HSUS which talked about this very subject and it is OUR responsibility to be respectful and humane to these wonderful creatures. God demands that from us. Here is the website of the HSUS which talks of this very subject.

Thanks again, you are wonderful!

Hi Jason

I think this has lots of potential. I am studying for an MA in Missional Leadership via a UK Bible college, and will hopefully continue study beyond that. It is always beneficial to receive input from diverse sources, build wide connections, and find research options. I also see it as a way to encourage Church Leaders to participate in ‘the discussion’ of future Church away from the pressure and entrenched expectations of congregations, who themselves often struggle to see the need for new expression.

The larger the ‘discussion participants’ the more momentum will be maintained from my experience. I think a Facebook group would be ideal because of its ease and accessability

regards

I have recently been reflecting on Matthew 19: 16-30 the story of the rich young man and realise that my heaven hurdle is not possessions but prominence. I am disposed to making decisions with an eye on how it will aid my prominence. In part this is not a bad thing, I can be more effective in influencing people if 100 listen to me rather than just 10. The danger here is two-fold, I can major on breadth rather than depth. I am also prone to being ego driven; marketing myself opens me up to the seduction of the limelight.

It is no surprise then that my personal blog includes my name and numerous posts that subtly promote me. But in the midst of that I hope are good ideas and encouraging thoughts.

It it quite possible that your reasons are vastly different to my experience, but for what it is worth, I regard you highly and really do enjoy and are challenged by your writing.

See you at the new place!

Rev Mark

I wanted my blogging to bet away from just my name to a theme, and a space for others to write with me, that was again less focused on my name.

Big news Jason! Can I ask, what led to you taking this decision?

looks like an interesting course Jason, I’m looking to find a suitable way to do some formal theological study — maybe this could be it?
