Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetI think the it works the same with a larger number of pieces, though admittedly it may be harder to see connections between the pieces/companies as the network gets bigger. I think the coupling can be in the form of business combinations, relationships, learning, SEO, search revenue deals etc. Combining/allocating resources takes more work - an openness to shifting around, with our own stuff - that we built or tried to build - it is easier to do.
Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | Tweetok this makes tons of sense. Here is where I am lost, though: as a user, how does FB connect work for me, functionally? In other words, what does the citysearch search partnership mean for me. I guess I am saying - let's see the implementation, will it be beneficial to me, will it be *easy* etc
btw I thought Beacon, in its idea, was brilliant

Reply | Original | Permalink | Share | TweetGreat thoughts - really well put.
All markets have changed - including our early stage stuff. Doesn't necessarily mean it's better or worse (though it might), but it is different, requiring different sets if expectations and plans on all sides. Which if done right leads to opportunity it done right.
