So the issue isn't poker, it's gambling. Online poker will still continue to exist no matter which way it goes, so it's stretching it a bit to even imply that it's in jeopardy of disappearing.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetThe game itself is not a crime anywhere as far as I know, but playing for money when the business doesn't have a gambling license is a crime in some jurisdictions, such as where I live. And there are good reasons why gambling houses have to have a license, besides making money for the state and reporting large winners for taxes. Things like making sure the odds are not artificially stacked more in favor of the house than they already naturally are, and making sure that winners actually get paid and not scammed. Any place in my state that has a license is subject to inspections of every aspect of their business to make sure it complies with the rules. Would you really want to play poker for money somewhere that only "special" people can win because they are using stacked decks? Or if you win over a certain amount you will have to hire a lawyer and fight to get your money?

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI was going to suggest that. Just make sure you to a proper 301 redirect or you could get slapped by Google for duplicate content. I wouldn't worry about the TLD confusing people all that much, unless you are a special education teacher. For a personal website, as long as it's not a 20 mile long URL, it will work just fine.

- I am a self taught programmer and developer of time management/productivity tools and small desktop utilities, which I release as donationware.
This means you will never pay more than you can afford or more than you think my software is worth, because I allow you to set the price.
My most popular application is Instant Boss.
I am also a very active member in the DonationCoder.com software enthusiasts community, and partcipate in a number of software related discussions, programming challenges, and occasionally donating my time to create custom software requested by members on the coding snacks section of their forum.
I have a total of over 20 websites and blogs that cover a wide range of topics and interests.
I never have a shortage of words and I usually don't hold back. I believe in expressing myself freely and I am not afraid to comment on any blogs I read, which is plenty. My current OPML contains over 200 blogs.
What you see here is only a tiny fraction of the comments I have left.
