When I first meet new people now, I give them my Google Voice number, that way I have the option to block them later and in general ignore their calls. Since most people text first these days, I get their special formulated Google Voice proxy number and save that to my contacts.

I dont know that the majority of users would benefit from XMPP support. But A/V on AIM would be just what Adium needs to make it the Firefox of IM software, for the Mac anyway. Hopefully it would slowly begin eating away at the iChat camp of users. Adium is really an awesome program though.

Twitter seems to be more important than anything these days. I hope the hype dies down one of these days, but I suspect it wont. I got one a while back, just so it would mirror off of my identi.ca posts, and get to more friends, because the reality of the situation is the majority of my friends do use the service.
