Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetJeff! So psyched that you stopped by to listen to Overflow. We are big fans of Blip.fm here at Fluid Media and are really starting to develop a social network on your service.... As you can tell from the podcast, we love music and have grown up sharing music with our friends. Personally, I always take great joy in discovering an artist early in their career and giving myself a pat on the back as I spread the word about how great they are.
You have developed a service that will make it even easier to discover and promote great music. Looking forward to your continued progression and we will certainly help you to promote and grow your business.
Thanks again .. Listen to the Music!
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetWayne, I think our mutual friend Sam once said “follow ideas, not people” .. which clearly states how I view the act of participating on Twitter. The term I’ve used over and over is “discovery”. I am in awe of our ability to discover, listen in on, and participate in conversations about any interesting topic you can imagine, via a simple messaging platform. These are still early days in an amazing era for communication and real time discovery. Some will miss the point and pollute their streams, while others will maintain some balance that leads to rewards.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetWe used to make fun of the kids in Little League who wore windbreaker jackets under their uniform. But, you be the guy who tells Bob he is a dork .... you might get buzzed by a high hard one!
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetThat's hilarious! I thought bicycle spoke damage was bad .. I bet seeing Rickey Henderson's head on Don Mattingly's body was good for a bunch of laughs
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetAll of my stuff is with @coolpapac who is doing a video .. but I'll post a bunch when I get it back.
I think Ernie needs a new haberdasher.... Clemens was just a skinny kid, hmm.
My favorite year was the 1971 Topps, because they did a lot of action cards that season.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI have two binders of cards (one National League, one American League .. ha, even as a kid I liked order) that are actually from my youth .. so there are some fairly beaten up relics, but they are great to look back on. I've always considered that I would pass them on some day.
I've even got some crazy cards like this one .. http://twurl.nl/507e0w
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetHoly Smokes ... I'll convert to the use of the term "Boggs" for Miller Lites myself. That's impressive. That boy must've had some serious kidney capacity too! They never answered that question. ....
Why do I suspect that kind of consumption volume may have played a role in the infamous Margot Adams situation he got himself into!?!
And yes, there was some emotional fans around Boston that night. I'm trying to get my brother to finally record his baseballism story about bolting out the door from my parent's 25th wedding anniversary party .. as we all stood around with un-opened champagne bottles. My mom had earlier uttered the mortal jinx by stating out loud "everyone will remember my 25th anniversary as the night the Red Sox finally won the World Series" ..... ugh.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetOuch! .. That Chicken Man was run out of town because he was crying on the bench at Shea that night in '86. He deserves to be wearing a Tampa hat on his dubious Hall of Fame plaque.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetWe are planning on it .. we are guest lecturing at AiA and thought that we would head over to the Mixer following that. See you then!
Joe
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetThanks Tessa .. Looking forward to seeing you at many other Atl events! Let's talk about having you come on the Overflow Podcast some time soon to talk about all that you do in this city, and your amazing contributions in social media ......
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetTrishaLyn, Palmetto Georgia! Wow, that's right down the street from me. I think I might even have some inlaws that live in Palmetto. What a small world.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetWow, powerful. You must have re-read that last statement hundreds of times already.
In that one deceptively simple declaration he has simultaneously challenged you & given you a handrail to support all of your future decisions. The ambiguity derived by inflecting a comma that isn't there, is enough for volumes of introspection.
It is what a mentor should always do, whether in person or posthumously. You have been left a great guide.

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetLOL ... If you could see the time stamp on that post, you'd note that I was deliriously typing away at 2:00 am so maybe it's a result of bad sleeping habits ... Ugh, life of a Geek Dad.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetTrishaLyn .. It's one thing to stop keeping baby records for four kids .. but twelve !?! Can you blame her!?! She had all she could handle just to get food, clothing & all of them accounted for :-)
