I totally understand Hesham, it’s like blogs posts, sometimes it’s difficult to be original and creative.

Thanks for the mention Yan. I can’t believe it took a month for me to notice. I’m very glad I found this post it clears up a few things and I was just about ready to put away the niche site idea. It’s nice to see you here :)

That’s a video by ‘Barely Political’. They have some hilarious videos. I’m subscribed to their YouTube channel. They’re the one’s that show the Obama Girl videos.

I like Bill O’Reilly a little more now!

Hi Sire, I use to own a couple ad boards, similar but not the same. In fact, I think I still have one up.

As far as what type of paid membership sites are best I guess that depends on the niche. My ad tracking site has done very well but I need to do a lot of upgrading if I’m going to catch up with the new sites.

In some niches it seems like everything is already saturated. In IM, for example, digital products sites are everywhere.

Personally, I like the membership sites that don’t need to be updated daily. Elegant Themes comes to mind. They add new themes every now and then and members pay $19.95/year to access any theme/s they want. Something like that in various niches sounds very appealing.

Many sites are membership sites and we don’t really think of them that way. Twitter, FaceBook, BlogCatalog, forums and FriendFeed are all membership sites.

I’m just the opposite of Deneil. I had Comcast cable for about 12 years and the service was good but they play games with the charges and I didn’t like the customer service. Last year we switched to satellite and I’m very satisfied. It’s almost as expensive but I get more channels and I’m not on the phone trying to figure out why the bill went up fifty dollars every few months. The best part of my satellite? The DVR (digital video recorder)! Wow, what a great invention. I never have to miss a movie or program I wanted to see now. Of course I’ll never have time to watch all those episodes of House M.D. I’ve recorded.

Hi Sire, a while back, over a year ago, I tried selling digital products on eBay’s classifieds. I did alright but then I started finding some great deals as a buyer. The instant downloads with no shipping was a big plus.

That’s a good point though, “A penny saved is a penny earned”.

PageRank is a fun, yet stressful, subject. By the time we think we get things half way figured out Google changes the play book.

I picture them all at a big conference table watching a meter that indicates how close everyone is. When too many are getting close they hit the button that changes the rules. Then they all have a big laugh. Perhaps I’m just not getting enough sleep lol

You may notice, other than AWeber, I didn’t use any affiliate links or recommend a specific membership site script. Don’t let that stop you from recommending one. Our Comment Policy allows a relevant link or two

Hi Pheak, it’s been a while. Adrian’s sign idea is a good one. I use to say the police should be able to hand out ’stupid tickets’ on the road. I like Adrian’s idea better.

Hi Brenda, It is pretty cool. Wouldn’t it be a cool thing to own? I would sell monthly ads on it. 5,000/month would get your image/message on the hub cap.

Hi Sire, Stopping there could cause a traffic hazard the way it’s setup now but a cheap pull off area could fix that easy enough.

Hi Camping Chair, Wow, you slammed the Washington Beltway! Actually, I know the area pretty well and I have to agree. LOL

Hi Sadie, It’s not really the photos, it’s just a way to encourage others to link to your site. I assume any content that others would want to use on their sites would work just as well. I need to get busy and start uploading more photos.

Traffic is a big topic and a lot of those commenting on this post are experts. I would encourage you to take a look around their blogs and see what they have to offer. A wealth of information on their blogs.

Hi Kristi, speaking of a photo op for tourists and visitors, as a side note, many are upset with local and MI state police. Anyone caught stopping to photograph the tire are chased away. I’m not sure why but I think they should capitalize on the monument and build a pull off area and welcome visitors. Especially with the very bad reputation of Detroit right now.

It’s true Kristi, many give up on just about anything online far too early with applying any effort at all. Because it’s the internet it’s somehow everything is expected to be an instant success, including list building and ezine marketing.
