Most are also signed up with content filtering sites like "Net Nanny," I don't know how well that works, but it sounds like it allows them to stay within their legal requirements.
I wonder if not only these things, but perhaps a "co-brand" of sorts would also work at Squidoo so that the Squidoo name wouldn't be so prominent on these "R" & "X" (and possible "PG") Lenses, if they are worried about reputation, and guilt by association.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI would say that is a big part of my life. Even during the past few months when I wasn't making any new Lenses, I was staying connected with Lensmasters through Twitter & the Squidoo Chat Room.
I was also constantly thinking of what topics I would cover when I did start making new Lenses.
I think my friends and family were getting a little sick of hearing me talk about it, even though I had made nothing new in a while.
Incredibly enough, 2 of the 3 Lenses I published this week, weren't even ones I had planned on before, so the well certainly hasn't gone dry yet.
(Anyone not familiar w/ Loyalis' Squidoo Chat Room: it can be found at the Captain Squid Blog, or right a Squidoo Lens by thefluffanutta titled "Squidoo Chat Room")
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetOops! Since I did this Interview I deleted two of my Lenses, and have not published any new ones. I am slowly reworking my current Lenses, and I am determined to bring all of my current ones up to a new standard I've established for myself before publishing anything new.
Thanks for featuring me, MiMi!

Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetWow, what a surprise!
I saw the title, came looking to see if there was anything here I hadn't featured in my Lens and you're actually featuring my Lens!
Thanks Mimi! :)
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI love being able to move modules without leaving the work area. That was such a disruption to my thought process. Being able to add certain modules without leaving the work area is also good, hopefully the new module picker will eliminate any need to leave the work area until we are finished working.

Your Lensmaster page is having some problems, have you checked to make sure there isn’t a stray piece of HTML code in your bio causing the problem?
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetMakes a lot of sense, Cap’n! Using the featured Lens modules seems to be a very effect way to do this. Music related Lenses are the easiest way to do this since you can make Lenses about the artist, their albums, songs, lyrics, videos and related artists. With a little bit of clear and focused thinking, this can be done with just about any topic.
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetVery inspiring! Hanging out in the Chat Room over the last few weeks, I’ve been hearing bits of this as it was happening, but seeing more details laid out in this post gives me hope for my own work on Squidoo!
Thanks, Cap’n!

I can see how some might get frustrated trying to take care of a large property with these trimmers, but I think I can do it with 4 fully charged batteries. The cold weather came and stopped the grass growing before I got a chance to try it this year.
I remain optimistic! :
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI think my problem is the theme I chose. I turned off SK2, and played around with the widgets. The Meta widget seems to need to stay on top to work right right in this theme.
I’m going to keep it as it is, cause I really like the color scheme in that theme. If it gives me any more trouble, maybe I’ll try a different one
Reply | Original | Permalink | TweetI’ve had 2 problems:
First with the spam filter, it caught another Lensmaster’s comments and marked as spam. When I approved the comments, it posted the comments with my ID instead of the original poster’s ID. I’m not sure if there are settings to make that not happen. I accidentally erased the comments trying to figure it out (I didn’t personally erase them, I clicked something I didn’t understand, and they were erased).
Secondly, when I am logged in using FireFox, there is no “Site Admin” link in the Meta box. It is there when I use IE.
I just made a work around for that — added the link to my Blogroll.
But still, I don’t know why I can see it in one browser not the other (actually, I wouldn’t have even mentioned it if I could see it with FireFox and not IE. I’m use to ignoring all of IE’s shortcomings).
